Annual News Letter...

So i decided it's about time for my yearly update. As you can see, I just love these social networking things and since I have 2 peeps that follow me, its really important that I blog it up.
So, first thought: This winter sucks. I mean, I love the spring and summer, but the thought of waiting and being a chance of a snow storm makes it no fun. I hate wet and slushy. I like lots of snow or none. Can I go camping yet????
School is cool.
I can't wait for may because there are so many things happening!!! Shanna's baby boy will be born, Mindi's birthday, Karlee's wedding, my mothers play, cinco de maio, and we are going to Kauai for a week. YAYAYAYAYA. I need the sun.
Healthy eating... Joke. We talk of great diet and exercise plans so we can look oh so great in hawaii, but as of currently they for some reason aren't working out too well with us.
Girls nights. Feels like we have them all the time. Love them. What happen to the men?
I finally after my 24 years and 3 differently occasions finished Gone With The Wind. I have to thank Heather, Jessie, and Shanna for giving me the opportunity to see such an emotionally classic film. With out their encouragement, I might have never finished all 3 1/2 hrs of it.
A wrap up of a few fun events of the last year. bear lake with the ward, Island Park with the fam, some skinnies, california with dew, kris, and dev, zions with heather, jessie, and shanna, and all the fun family and ward events that are never ending.

Bargaining

One of the many "talents" the Canfield's posses is their ability to bargain. Some refer to this level of talent as cheap while others say it is just a great trade. Now don't get me wrong, I fully support and love talking someone into giving me a great deal, but when it comes to dollars and quarters.... Really??
In this past week or two, I have been able to see this talent put into action and just how darn right embarassing(QUE VERGONHA)we can get. Last week we went skiing and spend about 2 days on KSL trying to find some ski passes. Well I guess Shane has learned at a young age because he ended up talking a guy into selling 3-$90 passes for $75 and another man, two passes for $20 each. Now that, I am pround of.
Then we go to my dad. A man following the true steps of his parents. He comes home from St. George with grandpa and begins showing of his latest garage sale purchases. First, 3 boxes of large, unopened skeleton lights with which you decorate the lawn, originally purchased for 10 dollars each. Well they had a sticker for $1 on each box. I thought 90% off is a pretty great price. Well my dad made a "deal" with them and bought all three for $2. Then, he pulls out a drill bit and proudly explained how he didn't really want it, but for 50 cents, he told the guy he would buy it. He coudn't even pay $1 for it. $1. Seriously, who carries change anyway? I am just glad I wasn't there so I didn't have to hide my face out of shame.
Sam's club hotdogs, McDonald's birthday dinners, 50 cent drill bits, and the list goes on and on. Yes, I love my family.

Jack of the Lantern

Pumpkins pumpkins are so fun!
For FHE we carved our pumpkins and watched Hocus Pocus. I thought we actually did a good job this time. Shane and mother made an ipmressive Grinch, Kaden and Mindi designed the boogie man and Jack, and my father an original smile. Shanna tried to do one, but as usual Genevieve was her "happy self" and needed some attention. But we did get a cute pic out of her before she cried away.

Natal

If you have ever been to my house near Christmas time, you know how much we love that holiday, and food. Having experienced a different kind of Christmas for the last 2 years, it made me love even more our crazy traditions. Music Oct. 1st, Cutting down the tree after thanksgiving, singing our lives away till we can't stay awake, and gift of the heart. Yes my views of Christmas have changed a bit more, but if I were honest, Christmas isn't Christmas with out these special family traditions. It's just another day closer to the next year and an excuse to be lazy and eat more food.
So, to say that I am excited for this years Christmas would be an understatement. I still dislike the cold, but it comes with package so freeze happy!!!

"Stop playing with my crevice"

Since a young age, I (and I can say Kaden as well) have always been drawn to the delight of picking on my little sister Natalie. Maybe its the fact that she would scream after which the flailing and attacks would occur. I always found it amusing and would laugh hysterically. I never did do the spit-dropping threats or hang her over the canal like Kade, but if you ask Natalie, she will be able to go on for hours about her tortured childhood because of us.

One in particular that I can remember is when we were playing hide-and-seek storage box style. What we would do was put Natalie (she was always a scrawny child) into the box, put the lid on, and then place her into a part of the house, after which she would guess where she was at. We once got a clever idea to place her under the crib, where she was not able to pop off the lid and then we left the room. I am not sure how long we left her there, she will probably tell you for hours.
Maybe that is why to this day she always thinks I am out to get her every time I try to give her a hug. She doesn't seem to be too amused by my love butt taps or cups. Maybe one day I will be able to win her trust over for the first time. If not, at least they make for good stories to tell the kids.

Catching up with the present

Well I guess it is the new thing to do these days to have a blog. Besides the fact that I haven't been in the country for a year and a half, I am completely lost on what I am doing here. Its like I have gone back to middle school for techno. Oh well, it will entertain me when I am bored.
Novidades, pois é. Tô ficando loca aqui neste mundo estranho. Ainda não sei o que fazer com a minha vida, mas quem realmente sabe, né? Basically transitions are so cool. Being back is an interesting experience. As my friend Casey said, it's like I fell asleep for a while and had the greatest dream ever. And for some odd reason I can speak another language. Allot of things happened while I was gone and allot of things changed. When you are out there, this life seems a dream and many times you forget all about it. Then, when you couldn't love life any more, you get thrown back here all of a sudden and once again, you feel like the fist of the mission, a puppet slightly lost in a foreign country.

But its good to see my family again. It's good to have a dryer and hot water come out of the facet. I can go to bed after 10:29 and not feel like a sinner. Music is heaven. It's good to be able to walk to the door and ring the doorbell instead of clap at a gate 20 feet away. There are about 10 temples in 2 hours distance of driving. Oh how I have missed the ice cream!!!! I must say there is nothing that compares to many of the sisters home cooking at our lunches though. So unhealthy and so good. I still can't figure out how I could eat 3 plates of food at lunch a day, and not only walk, but not come home a giant beach ball.
Living in Provo has been a very fun experience. I wasn't quite ready to go sit myself in the past just yet. I find out more and more I love changes. New things. Not being sat for too long. Though I don't think I could ever live here in the fall and winter, the summer is a blast. It's weird having my own room again, but it's kind of nice. Work is just something to keep me productive during my days and it gives me some great tan lines. Soon I will be headed back to USU and going at school for a 2nd time. It has been a long 2-year break and hopefully I have learned a few things to not be relaxed this time. Of the many things I became more grateful for, education was a big one and the chance I have to go. Do I know what I want to study? No. Do I have any idea? No. Does it drive me insane? Yes. Oh well, I go until I know and it's done.
I guess that sums up a little bit for now. Who knows how long I will keep up with this thing. Peace.
