One of the many "talents" the Canfield's posses is their ability to bargain. Some refer to this level of talent as cheap while others say it is just a great trade. Now don't get me wrong, I fully support and love talking someone into giving me a great deal, but when it comes to dollars and quarters.... Really??
In this past week or two, I have been able to see this talent put into action and just how darn right embarassing(QUE VERGONHA)we can get. Last week we went skiing and spend about 2 days on KSL trying to find some ski passes. Well I guess Shane has learned at a young age because he ended up talking a guy into selling 3-$90 passes for $75 and another man, two passes for $20 each. Now that, I am pround of.
Then we go to my dad. A man following the true steps of his parents. He comes home from St. George with grandpa and begins showing of his latest garage sale purchases. First, 3 boxes of large, unopened skeleton lights with which you decorate the lawn, originally purchased for 10 dollars each. Well they had a sticker for $1 on each box. I thought 90% off is a pretty great price. Well my dad made a "deal" with them and bought all three for $2. Then, he pulls out a drill bit and proudly explained how he didn't really want it, but for 50 cents, he told the guy he would buy it. He coudn't even pay $1 for it. $1. Seriously, who carries change anyway? I am just glad I wasn't there so I didn't have to hide my face out of shame.
Sam's club hotdogs, McDonald's birthday dinners, 50 cent drill bits, and the list goes on and on. Yes, I love my family.
